Our group has designed several software image and video codecs. This
project will explore the latest implementations of entropy encoders
(arithmetic, CABAC, range encoders, etc) in order to optimize them in terms
of efficiency and encoding delay. The resulting prototypes will be tested in
our own image and video compressor in order to evaluate their contribution to
the global encoder performance. |

The main goal of this project is to design a DS filter that be able to
encode decode video inside the Microsoft Direct-Show multimedia architecture.
The objective is to encode in real time SD video formats at high quality
rates. |
